OBA Mandates Vulnerable Sector Checks

This coming season the OBA has mandated that all umpires within our province now have to complete a vulnerable sector check in order to officiate games this coming season.

The OBA is continuing to update their website in regards to resources pertaining to these checks. In order to view the FAQ section to find out more on the VSC process, please click here

2021 Umpire Certification Process

For the 2021 Season, Baseball Ontario will not be conducting any in person umpire clinics such as past years. For this year all clinics, including the Level 3, 4 and 5 programs have moved to online clinics.

For Level 3 and above, the OBA has joined with Baseball BC in order to provide Super Clinics with umpires across the nation. In addition to this, they have been able to provide guest instruction from several members of Major League Baseball. If you have yet to attend one of these Super Clinics, you are urged to do so in order to maintain your certification for the coming season.

For the Level 1 and 2 umpires, your clinics this year will be held in an online capacity as well. Thus far, Hamilton is scheduled to host one of the virtual clinics which will be held at 9am on May 31st, 2021. Please either register on the Umpires section of the Baseball Ontario website, or else login to register for this clinic.
