The Hamilton Baseball Umpires Association is always looking for new umpires to expand our officiating roster! We are one of the few umpire associations within our province and have a history of developing umpires and having them progress through the local, provincial, national and even profressional rankings. Whether you are new to umpiring or whether you have experience, we can provide a great opportunity for you to expand your skills or continue to develop them, no matter your officiating goal.

The HBUA has a mentorship program which will give you the opportunity to “learn the ropes” from one of our veteran umpires. Our association has many members that offer varying levels of experience, including those involved in professional baseball as well as the Baseball Canada National Program. We take pride in umpiring and we believe in passing down this pride to umpires of all levels.

If you are currently involved in the game of Baseball and are looking for a way to continue your involvement in the game, then umpiring is just for you! You can expand your rules knowledge and stay involved in the game we all love, even after your playing or coaching days are behind you. Our association embraces the social aspects that an association requires to keep the camaraderie going whether no or off the field through social events and just getting together to “talk shop” with each other and share stories.

Did we mention money yet! The HBUA is among the highest paid umpires in our province and we provide the flexibility to be able to choose your own schedule and work as much, or as little as you want. Game fees average between $41-$80 per game.

If you have a passion for baseball, have officiated other sports or whether you are wanting to make some extra money during the summer while getting a great workout in the summer weather, then we want to hear from you!
