Congratulations to Sarnia for winning the Labour Day tournament over a formidable opponent in Mississauga Majors. Mississauga put up an amazing fight all day, shutting out two games to force a second championship game but could not hold down Sarnia’s clutch hitting in the final innings.
A big thank you is owed to all volunteers at both parks this weekend, especially to all our umpires for their support during each game and on Sunday when our leader had to leave to attend an emergent family matter. Special thanks to Matt “Safe punch out” Wilkinson to lifting all spirits and to stepping up when Bill needed him to. Everyone’s contribution is noted and it is this weekend each year when we can appreciate the great men and women of our association.
